Blogs are sweeping the internet like a brush fire. They’re everywhere. Everyone is jumping on the idea.

But, why do we do it? A lot of people do them for fun. They just use it for a journal maybe to share amoung friends. Some might have a small community with their website and it’s a great way to provide fresh information, news and ideas.

You can have a Blog directly on your website like myself, or take advantage of wordpress.com’s free Blog Service. It still compliments the site, there are a lot of bells and whistles and it’s very user friendly. Actually there is a way to put this blog from wordpress.com directly on my site…

A large number of people are told that blogs are great for the search engines! And they are. But content alone won’t find you at the top of the SERPS (Search Engine Results Pages).

I answered a post from someone recently regarding Blogs being listed in search engines. We were debating if Blogs were treated any different just for being a Blog. Here is one of my responses:
It will take time (to find your way into the search engines). And a Blog probably isn’t treated any different than a regular website. You have to have good Inbound Links, keywords etc, etc…

And regarding if blogs are treated any different than regular websites:
This is probably one of those questions that only Google knows and will just become a rumor…

I don’t think they are treated any different. You just have to treat them like you’re optimizing a website.
